WHETHER OUT LOUD here on the podcast or just between us on one of our periodic late Friday afternoon phone calls, I always benefit from catching up with Joe Lamp’l (a.k.a. Joe Gardener). Probably no time for talking is more beneficial than around year’s end, when Joe and I like to compare notes on what went well—and not so much—in our garden adventures. Comparing notes with a friend who’s a fellow gardener can help each of us do better next time, and that’s what’s on the agenda in this conversation. Joe Lamp’l is host of the popular “Joe Gardener Podcast,” and creator of a suite of online courses about gardening—or perhaps you know him from his former long-running public television program called “Growing a Greener World.” Joe gardens in the Atlanta area, and I don’t know any home gardener who starts more seeds each season (think: thousands and thousands, and then thousands more for good measure).
